About the Student Association

What is SASSE?

The Student Association at the Stockholm School of Economics (SASSE) is a non-political, non-religious organization that has about 1600 members. SASSE was founded in 1909 when the Stockholm School of Economics was situated at Brunkebergstorg. Over a century later the Student Association is located at Sveavägen in the heart of Stockholm and has evolved into a vast and dynamic organization where 95% of the students are active to some extent during their time at SSE.

SASSE is a rather unique organization. SASSE exists thanks to the strong drive and commitment among the SSE students and the wish to have fun and develop as a community. The purpose of SASSE is fundamentally to care for the joint interests of the students, which roughly can be summarized in educational coverage, extra-curricular activities and career services.

Who is SASSE?

Basically all students at SSE are members, or at least that is our goal. SASSE is led by a board that manages the daily activities at SASSE and it consists of a President, a Vice president, a Treasurer and 8 committee presidents. On top of that around 95% of all SSE students engage themselves in a SASSE project sometime during their studies. SASSE offers projects stretching from a baking society and a debate society to arranging career fairs and lectures on interesting topics.

What can SASSE do for me as an SSE student?

As a member of SASSE you will be able to participate in the numerous projects, lectures and social events arranged by the members. In addition, you will receive a Mecenat Card which verifies you as a student and offers great discounts all over Sweden. Why not come by one of our pubs and enjoy a beer in the SASSE atmosphere?
