SASSE board trip report 15/16

We now present the main takeaways from when the SASSE Board 15/16 visited SSE Alumni and Stanford University in California in January 2016. In-depth interviews with different SSE alumni will also be published in the coming editions of MiniMax.

Based on the FT-rankings and reports from SSE, many SSE graduates prefer to work in Silicon Valley and is one of the areas internationally where SSE Alumni are working today. Stanford University is additionally very successful in working with their alumni relations and SSE strives to improve within this area and benchmark against e.g. Stanford. Hence it is important that SASSE also works in the same direction to be able to operate in the forefront as a student association in the future as well. Both in order to provide our members with the tools necessary for their future working life, but also to keep contact with our alumni with SASSE experiences, in order to facilitate knowledge and the feeling of community to the entire SSE family in a broader and more structured way.Therefor the Student Council in September 2015 decided that the SASSE Board of 15/16 should visit California, January 2016, to work with the following topics:

  • Discover how Stanford University works with Alumni Relations
  • Strengthen the relationship with the SSE alumni that currently lives in California
  • Collect concrete information about how to immigrate to America and build a career
