Clarification regarding campaigning rules

Read this for a reminder and clarification on what rules there are on election campaigns within SASSE.

Since the SASSE Board and the Election Committee has been getting lots of questions on what rules there are for election campaigns within SASSE, we have posted some reminders and clarifications below. Please note that the "Do's" are not restricted to these bulletpoints.

Do’s:

  • In order to campaign you can put up posters (information regarding poster restrictions follows below). Mainly done by those running for a position in the SASSE Board, but all candidates are welcome to put up posters if they like.
  • Talk to fellow students and if you like you can also make your own campaign film.
  • We urge you to campaign fairly and talk to your opponents during the campaign period, and we do not want to see any failed exams as a consequence of the election period.
  • You are allowed to create your own Facebook group for your campaign.
  • You are only allowed to use campaign material in A3, smaller sizes are allowed, in the SASSE premises (the corridor between the Rotunda and the Pub).

Do not’s

  • You are not allowed to send out email to groups of students promoting yourself. The reason for this is that personal data is part of the SSE student portal, and is thus not to be used in promotional matters.
https://portal.hhs.se/PresidentsOffice/Charters/Riktlinjer-for-hantering-av-studentuppgifter-gentemot-extern-part.pdf (only available in Swedish I'm afraid)
  • You are not allowed to use private telephone numbers or home addresses for promotional matters for the same reason as above.
  • You are not allowed to use your position in a project to promote yourself (i.e. you may not use for example the projects “newsletter” or general emails to members of the project to promote yourself).
  • You may not campaign on the SASSE website.
  • You are NOT allowed to make "inspring" in order to promote yourself.
  • You are not allowed to use campaign material in the SSE premises unless it has been approved by SSE and the SASSE board.
  • You may not post campaign material on the official SASSE Facebook page.

Regarding posters in general (for the complete list of rules, see the notice boards in the corridor. The rules are posted on every one of them.)

  • All posters must be in English (i.e. assumed that it's text on it).
  • No poster can exceed the size of an A3 format.
  • Do not forget to stamp the posters at Kårsekretariatet.
  • You can only have one poster/billboard.
  • You cannot put your poster on top of another poster.
  • You can use all billboards that belong to SASSE.
